To gain more control over email branding, tracking, and deliverability, FirstPromoter allows companies on the Business and Enterprise plans to use their own SMTP servers.

This is for FirstPromoter v2, if you are still using v1, please check this article

Follow these steps to set up your SMTP server settings and change the "From" email address:

  • Navigate to your profile in the top-right corner and select "Settings";

  • Go to the "Email & Notifications" tab;

  • Enable "Send email from your own domain" and choose "Use your own SMTP server" to complete the setup;

  • Save the settings.

Note: If the "From email address" is not set to the domain used in Sendgrid, emails may not be sent.

To test the settings, consider sending a test email:

  • Go to the "Emails" section from the left-side menu;

  • Click on any email subject to open the email form;

  • Click the second button from the bottom, "Save and send test email";

  • Wait a few seconds and check your inbox.

If you encounter issues with this setup, reach out to us for assistance.

Connecting with Sendgrid SMTP: For Sendgrid SMTP, disable "StartTLS," and keep the port as 587. Also, go to Settings > Email and Notifications to change the 'From' Email address to your own domain.

Connecting with Google SMTP: Google requires a different setup for SMTP configuration. Refer to this link for guidance.

Important Note: Due to the potential volume of emails sent from the affiliate program, consider using a transactional email service. Even if configured with Google, there's a risk of being blocked if a substantial number of emails are sent.
