To gain more control over email branding, tracking and deliverability, FirstPromoter allows companies on the Business and Enterprise plans to use their own domain for sending emails.

This is for FirstPromoter v2, if you are still using v1, please check this article

Follow these steps to set up your DNS server settings and change the "From" email address:

  • Navigate to your profile in the top-right corner and select "Settings";

  • Go to the "Email & Notifications" tab;

  • Enable "Send email from your own domain" and choose "Verify sending domains using DNS";

  • Select "+Add Domain"

  • Provide the domain you would want to use and click on "Continue".

This opens a new modal with the configuration settings:

If you're not familiar with CNAME records, you will need to contact your domain host, who can help you set it up.

Add the CNAME record to your domain's DNS records

To add the CNAME record to your domain host, follow the steps below. If these steps do not match, you may need to see your domain host’s documentation for more specific instructions.

  1. Open a browser tab or window and sign in to your host’s website.

  2. Go to your domain’s DNS records.

  3. Add a record to your DNS settings, selecting "CNAME" as the record type.

  4. Return to the FirstPromoter window or tab and copy the contents of the "Name" field under the "CNAME" row.

  5. Paste the copied contents into the "Label" or "Host" field on your DNS records.

  6. Once done, return to the FirstPromoter window or tab and copy the contents of the Value field.

  7. Paste the copied contents into the Destination/Target/Value field on your DNS record.

  8. Save your record.

Add the TXT record to your domain's DNS records

On the same page/section where you added the CNAME record from above, you should be able to create a new record.

  1. Create a new record in your DNS settings, selecting TXT as the record type.

  2. Return to the FirstPromoter window or tab and copy the contents of the Name field under the TXT row.

  3. Paste the copied contents into the Label or Host field on your DNS records.

  4. Once done, return to the FirstPromoter window or tab and copy the contents of the "Value" field.

  5. Paste the copied contents into the "Destination/Target/Value" field with your DNS record.

  6. Save your record.

Verify Domain on FirstPromoter

With the above configured on your server, you will need to verify your domain to get it working. You may need to wait a few minutes for the changes to replicate before clicking on the "Verify" button, as shown in the screenshot below:
