Instant tracking setup for Stripe

How to track the referrals without any scripts using Stripe promotion codes

Written by Louis Anghel

FirstPromoter offers an alternative setup for Stripe users that can be finished in less than 5 minutes, without needing to add any scripts to your website or involve any developers. This guide will walk you through the steps to enable tracking using Stripe promotion codes.

Requirements:

  • Ensure you have a Stripe account set up, as FirstPromoter currently supports only Stripe for this feature

  • Use promotion codes on the checkout page

  1. Select "Instant Stripe setup"

  2. Create a Campaign

    1. Campaign name: Enter the name of your campaign.

    2. Default referral link URL: Provide the link you want the affiliates to share with their audience.

    3. Reward for promoters: Specify the reward for your promoters (e.g., commission percentage or fixed amount).

    4. Discount for customers: Set the discount for customers. This will automatically create a coupon code in Stripe.

You can use an existing coupon code from Stripe or create a new one in FirstPromoter by selecting "New Stripe Coupon"

For a new coupon, you can set the duration and the number of redemptions (optional; default is unlimited).

More details about tracking using coupon codes can be found here.

  3. Customize Affiliate Portal

    1. Upload your company logo: Upload the logo for your brand to be displayed in the affiliate portal.

    2. Pick the primary color: Set the primary color of the affiliate dashboard to match your brand.

Note: This is only the initial branding setup. After completing these three steps, you can further customize your affiliate portal. For more details, please refer to this article.

Once all the details are filled in, your campaign will be ready to go. FirstPromoter will automatically handle the creation and tracking of promotion codes in Stripe.

To check if it is properly set, you can use a promotion code created for a promoter to make a test purchase on your checkout page.
